Job summary

Denbighshire County Council is seeking a part-time Caretaker and Cleaner for Ysgol Bro Dyfrdwy in Cynwyd. The role includes security, heating and lighting duties, with cleaning tasks and minor maintenance, during term time plus training days and holiday periods.

The post requires prior caretaking/cleaning experience, good organisation and communication skills, and a DBS check. Additional hours may be required for school holidays and open/close duties for contractors.

Hours: Caretaker: 5 hours per week / Cleaner: 10 hours per week, Term time + 5 Training days & 3 weeks during school holidays

The Governing Body are keen to appoint a committed caretaker & cleaner to provide an effective, efficient on-site service ensuring the security of the buildings and surrounding areas, heating and lighting of the premises and minor maintenance works. The role will also include cleaning tasks.

The successful candidate may have previous caretaking/cleaning experience and have excellent organisation and communication skills.

We seek candidates with a good understanding of health and safety, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for everyone in the school.

The post holder will work an additional 15 days during the school holidays -these will be mutually agreed with the Headteacher. During this time you may be required to open and close the school for outside contractors and undertake routine or ad hoc cleaning/maintenance work.

Appointment subject to Disclosure & Barring Service Check and satisfactory references.
