Job summary

Woolmer Hill School is seeking a reliable caretaker to join our facilities team. You will perform health and safety checks, carry out general maintenance around the site, and open or lock the school as required.

The role requires good communication with staff and contractors to keep our environment safe and well-maintained. You will work closely with the School Leadership and Business Manager to ensure a clean, safe environment for students and staff, and you may be asked to support on COSHH

Qualifications

• Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic.
• Basic maintenance and DIY skills evident.
• Able to work independently and flexibly.
• Good communication with staff and contractors.
• COSHH knowledge is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Carry out health & safety checks and record results.
• Perform general maintenance tasks around the school.
• Open or lock the school as required.
• Liaise with staff and contractors to resolve issues.

Job description

Working closely with the Business Manager, Headteacher and other staff to ensure Health & Safety checks are completed and recorded in a timely manner. Complete or help facilitate resolution of any issues identified as part of checks or escalated to senior staff as required. Complete general maintenance tasks. On occasion open or lock school as required.
