A local Town Council in Lewes is hiring a Caretaker for full-time day-to-day supervision of three venues. The position requires good DIY skills, reliability, and the ability to deal calmly with the public. Responsibilities include cleaning, maintenance, and assisting venue management. Location: Lewes
Salary: Scale SCP: 4 : 6 (starting at GBP 24,404 per annum) plus a generous Local Government Average Salary Pension Scheme
Full Time: 37 hours

The Town Council is recruiting a Caretaker to carry out day-to-day caretaking, cleaning, and opening/locking duties at three Council venues.
Caretakers are responsible for basic building and equipment maintenance, repairs, set-up and breakdown of events and functions, cleaning, stock monitoring, and assisting the Venue Managers where appropriate.
If you have experience in a similar role, are reliable, hands-on, comfortable working independently, able to remain calm and act diplomatically when dealing with the public, have an understanding of how buildings work, and can carry out minor repairs, we would love to hear from you.
