Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Caretaker to join a busy Extra Care housing scheme in Hounslow. This hands‑on role requires a practical approach to facilities, estate services and housing, with a focus on safety, cleanliness and resident satisfaction.

The role offers an immediate start, 37 hours per week, and a full‑time temporary agency contract. You'll be part of a supportive team working to maintain high standards for residents and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Caretaker, Estate Caretaker, Facilities Assistant or similar role.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Practical maintenance skills and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day caretaking and facilities duties across the scheme.
• Maintain communal areas, external grounds and walkways to a high standard.
• Undertake cleaning duties, including specialist steam cleaning where required.
• Assist with moving furniture, setting up communal areas and supporting office or resident moves.
• Receive and distribute deliveries, supplies and equipment.
• Monitor stock levels and keep storage areas organised.
• Support waste management, including bulk rubbish removal.
• Carry out routine health and safety checks and report maintenance issues.
• Assist with pest prevention measures and liaise with contractors when required.
• Respond to ad hoc requests from residents and colleagues to support smooth running.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Caretaker to join a busy Extra Care housing scheme in Hounslow. This is a varied, hands‑on role that would suit someone with experience in caretaking, facilities, estate services, maintenance or housing who enjoys working in a customer‑focused environment.

You’ll play an important part in ensuring the scheme is safe, clean, well‑maintained and welcoming for residents, visitors and colleagues.

What We're Looking For

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Practical maintenance skills and a proactive approach.
• Understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
• Experience working within housing, residential, care or facilities environments is desirable.
• Reliable, organised and committed to maintaining high standards.
