Job summary

Sutherland House School in Nottingham is seeking an ambitious Careers Lead to shape the school's careers education across all phases. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on teaching (0.5 teaching commitment) to influence provision and support pupils in preparing for adulthood.

You will work with families, staff and external partners to embed careers activities, develop employer links, monitor Gatsby Benchmarks, and ensure all autistic learners have access to meaningful experiences

Qualifications

• Experience of careers education, transitions, preparation for adulthood or post-16 pathways would be advantageous.
• Experience of working with autistic children or within an additional needs environment is desirable, with full training and support provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of the school's careers programme across the curriculum and wider school experiences.
• Promote high aspirations, develop employer and community partnerships and ensure pupils access to experiences supporting future ambitions.
• Collaborate across all phases to integrate preparation for adulthood, employability and independence skills; monitor impact against Gatsby Benchmarks.
