Job summary

University Careers Service is seeking a skilled platform administrator to manage the Target Connect careers system in Reading. You will enhance user experience for students, employers, and staff, andPromote events using customised panes while keeping accurate placement activity records, including the London School of Architecture placements.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English grade C or 4 or above.
  • Degree level qualification.
  • Experience working with systems and/or databases.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data using Excel and Power BI.
  • Ability to design a positive User Experience for students using the Careers Platform.
  • Ability to use external data reports, such as ONS reports, to identify relevant trends.
  • Understanding of GDPR and the safe and responsible use of data.
  • Organised record keeping and confidence ensuring team members adhere to standards.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to present data accessibly and engagingly to varied audiences.
  • Digital skills confidence with MS Office, including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Alignment with the University’s core values and growth mindset approach.
  • Preparedness to undertake mandatory online training.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, Prevent, and anti-harassment and bullying requirements.
  • Original documentary evidence of relevant academic and/or professional qualifications.
  • Satisfactory identity, right-to-work, criminal record history and three years’ employment history checks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop use and functionality of the Target Connect careers platform.
  • Improve platform user experience and maximize value for students, employers and staff.
  • Use custom panes to promote events and initiatives.
  • Develop placement activity record keeping, including London School of Architecture placements.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and improved data collection and use.
  • Manage staff access to the platform with HR and Payroll.
  • Create training materials for users.
  • Manage the Alumni Contact Plan and notifications.
  • Develop regular metrics and reports on student journeys, destinations and outcomes.
  • Present information in clear, inclusive and accessible formats for varied audiences.
  • Source, evaluate and curate careers and labour market information.
  • Support consultants and advisers with current labour market information.
  • Create engaging student-focused sector insights, labour market information and career resources.
  • Explore social media use to engage students in careers activities.
  • Maintain data compliance schedules and complete the annual Careers website audit.
  • Maintain the Student Services Register of Processing Activities.
  • Collect and analyse service usage data, trends, engagement and data segments.
  • Manage complex careers registration data imports and exports.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of key University systems.
  • Collaborate with Technology and Data and Analysis teams to optimize system integration.
  • Liaise with Academic, Student Services, Data Analysis and Technology teams.
