Job summary

Place Partnership seeks a strategic Careers Hub Lead to oversee CEIAG across the West Hub, driving quality and compliance with Gatsby Benchmarks. You will work with senior leaders and external partners to raise aspirations and improve student outcomes.

The role focuses on partnership development, reporting to governors, and creating opportunities for students to engage with the world of work while ensuring statutory requirements are met.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Gatsby Benchmarks and CEIAG frameworks and how to apply them to outcomes for young people.
  • Holding or working towards a Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance.
  • Able to use data and performance measures to evaluate impact and drive improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and champion a high-quality CEIAG programme across West Hub academies.
  • Monitor, evaluate, benchmark and report on careers provision to stakeholders including Ofsted.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with employers, FE/HE providers and external agencies.
  • Collaborate with parents and carers to support informed decisions about education and future career paths.

Salary: Band I, £38,316 to £40,879 per annum (actual salary)


Hours: Full time, Term time only + 20 days


Contract: Permanent


Location: Across the West Hub

Place Partnership is seeking to appoint an ambitious, highly motivated and strategic Careers Hub Lead, to lead, develop and champion an exceptional careers education programme across our secondary academies in the West Hub (Wakefield). The role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the planning and implementation of a progressive, high-quality careers programme that supports young people and equips them with the knowledge, skills and experiences they need to succeed.


The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the coordination and delivery of the Trust's Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme across the West Hub's secondary academies. They will ensure the programme fully complies with statutory requirements, while driving continuous improvement towards achieving all eight Gatsby Benchmarks. Working closely with senior leaders, governors, and external partners, The Careers Hub Leader will monitor, evaluate, and enhance the effectiveness of the careers provision, through the use of benchmarking tools, performance data, and quality assurance processes, providing clear and impactful reporting to stakeholders including Ofsted.


A central aspect of the role will involve building and sustaining strong partnerships with employers, further and higher education providers, training organisations and external agencies. The postholder will represent the Trust within professional networks and create meaningful opportunities for students to engage with the world of work. They will also work closely with parents and carers to support young people in making well-informed decisions about their future pathways, fostering a collaborative approach that raises aspirations and promotes positive destinations for all students.


The role is based in the West Hub, with the central office and academies based in Wakefield.


About You


  • Knowledgeable about the Gatsby Benchmarks and wider Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) frameworks, with the ability to apply them effectively to support positive outcomes for young people.

  • Holding, or working towards, a Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance.

  • Confident in using data and performance measures to evaluate impact, identify areas for improvement and drive continuous development.

  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and partnership-building skills.

  • Passionate about improving life chances, raising aspirations, and supporting young people from all backgrounds to achieve their full potential.

  • Committed to empowering young people to make informed decisions about their education, training and future career pathways.
