Job summary

EBP South in Hampshire seeks a Careers Adviser with Level 4 or Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development to support students from Year 7 to Year 13 in schools, sixth form and college settings.

The role involves providing impartial information, advice and guidance (IAG), helping young people explore Post 16 options, liaising with partner agencies, and using local labour market information to support career planning. Some travel across Hampshire is required.

Qualifications

• Experience providing impartial information, advice and guidance (IAG) to students.
• Able to support young people’s career learning from Year 7 to Year 13.
• Experience guiding Post 16 and Post 18 options including college, apprenticeships and higher education.
• Willingness to travel across Hampshire to schools and colleges.

Responsibilities

Careers Adviser - With Level 4 or Level 6 Qualification in Careers Guidance

Job Type: Full Time/Part Time/Term time plus 2 weeks. Full Time - 37 hours per week.

Locations: Basingstoke and North Hampshire.

Salary: Level 4 - £25,625. You will be required to study the additional units for the Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development. EBP South will cover the cost of this. On completion of the Level 6 you would move on to the Level 6 salary.

Level 6 - £27,675 FTE - Newly qualified, £28,700 FTE - 1 year's experience, £29,725 FTE - 2 or more years' experience.

• Able to support young people’s career learning, planning and development by providing impartial information, advice and guidance (IAG) to students from Year 7 to Year 13 in school, sixth form and college settings. Also advocating on their behalf when required.
• Experienced in assisting young people into Post 16 and Post 18 Options that includes college, apprenticeships, higher education, voluntary work and PT/FT employment.
• Able to liaise and network with a range of partner agencies, service providers, employers, and training providers.
• Can develop and maintain an understanding of the local labour market and employment opportunities. Collect and interpret labour market information.
• Can support school or college staff in training sessions related to careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG).
• Able to evaluate all activities in terms of impact.
• FE and UCAS experience desirable but not essential.
• The successful candidate will need to work in schools located across Hampshire and the surrounding areas. Therefore, it is essential for the staff to be able to make their own travel arrangements. Whilst every effort will be made to ensure travel is kept to a reasonable level unfortunately due to the nature of the business this can not always be guaranteed.
