Job summary

Serco in Cardiff is seeking a Progression Job Coach to support people on the Restart scheme, helping them overcome barriers, build confidence and move into sustainable employment.

You will manage a caseload, deliver one-to-one coaching, write action plans, assist with CVs and applications, and work with employers to match participants to suitable roles, while maintaining accurate records and meeting contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching, mentoring or supporting individuals into employment or education.
• A genuine passion for helping people succeed and making a positive difference in communities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence others.
• Experience working in a target-driven or performance-focused environment.
• Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Good understanding of the Welsh language.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of participants, guiding them through the full Restart journey from engagement through to sustained employment
• Deliver one-to-one coaching, needs assessments and tailored action plans to address barriers to work
• Provide practical employability support including CV writing, job applications, interview preparation and job search techniques
• Build strong, trust-based relationships with participants, motivating and supporting them to achieve their goals
• Work with employers and internal teams to identify opportunities and match participants to suitable roles
• Maintain accurate records and ensure full compliance with contract requirements and customer service standards
