Job summary

Opus People Solutions Ltd is seeking an Employment Advisor to support unemployed adults and NEETs in Walsall. You will provide tailored careers information, advice and guidance and help clients move into education, training or employment. The role is onsite, 37 hours per week, temporary to March 2027 with potential extension.

The position starts 30 November 2026, with a pay rate of £18.96 per hour PAYE or £26.05 per hour UMB, and requires strong relationship-building and case-management skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in employability services or welfare-to-work.
• Level 4 CIAG qualification or equivalent in careers guidance desirable.
• Experience helping individuals into employment or training.
• Ability to build relationships with employers and partners.
• Strong communication and case management skills.
• Commitment to professional development.
• Confident IT skills and accurate record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of unemployed adults and young people, guiding to education or work.
• Deliver high-quality careers information, advice and guidance.
• Identify barriers and develop action plans with individuals.
• Plan and deliver one-to-one and group employability sessions.
• Monitor progress and report against targets and funding.
• Build relationships with employers, training providers and partners.
• Support NEETs to re-engage in opportunities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver local employment initiatives.
• Promote the council's employment services to residents.
• Contribute to service objectives and KPIs through proactive engagement.
