Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking a Supported Employment Coordinator to help adults with disabilities or barriers into sustained paid work. The role involves one-to-one profiling, applying the national 5-stage model, and providing practical support such as CVs, interview prep and job coaching.

You’ll work across local communities with a mobile, flexible approach. Experience in supported employment or social care is advantageous; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience or interest in employment support, skills development or social care.
• Ability to work with individuals, families, professionals and employers.
• Organised, adaptable and able to manage a varied caseload.

Responsibilities

• Work one-to-one with individuals to understand strengths, skills and aspirations.
• Support preparation for paid employment using the 5-stage Supported Employment Model.
• Provide CV development, interview prep, job coaching and in-work support.
• Engage with employers to understand needs and promote inclusive recruitment.
• Build partnerships with HAS, CYPS, education providers and local employers.
• Maintain records and contribute to performance reporting and service evaluation.
