Job summary

New Age Care is seeking a Care Trainer to deliver training across our care facilities, ensuring compliance and supporting carers from induction onward. The role includes delivering induction, mandatory updates, and non-clinical competency assessments while maintaining accurate records and adhering to regulatory standards.

Applicants must hold accredited training qualifications (PTLLS or AET), Train the Trainer in Manual Handling and Care Certificate, plus Level 3 Assessor Award and CET

Responsibilities

  • Deliver induction training to new carers and monitor progress.
  • Deliver mandatory update and refresher training using compliance data.
  • Carry out non-clinical competency assessments.
  • Deliver specialist training across departments as needed.
  • Ensure training records and paperwork are maintained and compliant.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Set up and tidy training rooms and materials.
  • Attend meetings to improve training materials and practices.
  • Promote best practice and person-centred care.

About the role

The Care Trainer is responsible for delivering training across our care facilities to maintain company and legislative compliance, the role includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • To deliver induction training to all new carers, monitoring progress and reporting on-going individual development needs.
  • To deliver mandatory update and refresher training, utilising compliance data and ensuring that all training is delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
  • To carry out non-clinical competency assessments.
  • To deliver specialist and bespoke training requirements from across the wider department in conjunction with subject matter
  • To ensure all paperwork and training activity is recorded and maintained as appropriate and all company policy and legislation is adhered.
  • To keep up to date with legislative requirements, the curriculum and expected standards of practice to ensure accurate training delivery
  • To be responsible for the set-up and pack away of the training room, training equipment and training materials.
  • To attend all relevant meetings to ensure continuous development of own self and training materials.
  • To practice and promote the company vision, being a visible, competent and supportive role model by promoting best practice and the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.
  • To be considered for this role, candidates must hold a recognised training accreditation such as PTLLS or the Award in Education and Training.
  • Trainer should also have Train the Trainer (TTT) qualifications in both Manual Handling and the Care Certificate.
  • The role requires strong skills in training delivery, presenting, and facilitating group activities, along with the ability to effectively manage a range of individual and group learning needs.
  • Proficiency in IT, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is essential, as is experience working within the Health and Social Care sector.
  • A full driving licence and essential to travel to various locations/nationwide.
  • Level 3 Assessor Award( TAQA/CAVA)
  • Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training (CET)
  • Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training ( CET)

  • Health & Safety: Work safely; follow risk assessments, infection control, and manual handling procedures.
  • Medicines: Administer safely and record accurately. (Medicines Act 1968 & Misuse of Drugs Act 1971)
  • Regulatory Compliance: Follow CQC Fundamental Standards and NICE guidelines.
