Tamfol is seeking a compassionate Care Support Worker to join our team in Scotland. You will provide personalized care across assisted living facilities, nursing homes and home care settings, promoting independence and wellbeing for clients, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s.

Qualifications

  • Experience in assisted living or home care settings.
  • Dementia and Alzheimer’s care experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures.
  • First aid certification.
  • Ability to lift/move clients safely.
  • Excellent communication with clients, families and teams.
  • Valid driving license with reliable transport if required.
  • Compassionate, patient, resilient caregiving approach.
  • Experience in nursing homes or hospice is desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents or clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
  • Provide patient-centered care that respects individual preferences and dignity.
  • Support medication administration under supervision or according to care plans.
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and social interaction.
  • Monitor health status, observe for changes in behavior or condition, and report findings promptly.
  • Manage behavior challenges with patience and effective behavior management techniques.
  • Support hospice or end-of-life care needs with sensitivity and compassion.
  • Drive clients safely to appointments or outings when required, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Skills
  • Proven assisted living experience or home care background demonstrating adaptability across diverse client needs.
  • Strong patient care skills with a focus on dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and senior care practices.
  • Experience working in nursing homes or hospice settings is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures and first aid certification.
  • Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when assisting with mobility or transfers.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation for driving duties if required.
  • Compassionate caregiving approach combined with patience and resilience.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviors effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor.
