Job summary

Summerfield Care Home is offering a Level 2 Adult Care Apprenticeship in Branston, Burton On Trent. Earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience caring for adults with daily needs and health and social care skills.

The programme runs for 13 months with a 30-hour weekly schedule. Salary starts at £8.00 per hour with a pay rise after one year for those over 19, plus online training and DBS checks as part of the process.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths desirable (A*-C).
• Good communication and customer care skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and show initiative.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care in line with residents' care plans.
• Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting).
• Support residents' mobility and independence.
• Encourage residents' emotional wellbeing through activities and social interaction.
• Maintain residents' dignity, privacy and respect.
• Carry out light housekeeping duties to keep a clean, safe environment.
• Build relationships with residents, families and colleagues.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and infection prevention procedures.
• Accurately record and report changes in residents' health or wellbeing.

As an Adult Care Apprentice, you will:

• Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
