Job description

Critical Care Manager Nuffield Health Oxford The Manor Hospital | Nursing

Permanent | Full-Time (37 hours/week)

At Nuffield Health, the UK's largest healthcare charity, everything we do for our patients, members, and customers is supported by our dedicated staff. Whether it's driving connected health, helping the nation, transforming experiences, or building careers, we provide the support to achieve it all. We're seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Manager with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care to join us at Nuffield Health, The Manor Hospital.

Whether you're currently working in the NHS or in a private setting, now is the time to apply. This role offers autonomy and career growth, with recognition and support to help you find job satisfaction.

Critical Care is where your skills and training are vital. With us, you'll have access to comprehensive support and training to handle various roles. Our care quality makes patient journeys memorable for all the right reasons.

Immediate / Advanced Life Support certification is desirable. We seek an enthusiastic, motivated, and dynamic individual who has undertaken postgraduate study in intensive care and mentorship. A passion for clinical care, excellent leadership skills to support the team, and experience at a senior level are essential. You should be an excellent communicator and team player — flexible and motivated. As part of the wider hospital team, you'll collaborate with practitioners from other areas to ensure continuity of patient care.

Working with our consultant-led service, you'll collaborate with top clinical talent, gaining experience with new practices, equipment, and facilities. We pride ourselves on maintaining high standards, low infection rates, and excellent CQC scores at Nuffield Health.

As our Critical Care Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Supervising and supporting clinical and junior staff, providing education, training, and mentorship to meet development needs.
  2. Delivering high-quality, evidence-based, clinically effective patient care.
  3. Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care as part of a collaborative team.

We care about your wellbeing. Our benefits package includes fitness, lifestyle, health, and wellbeing rewards such as free gym membership, health assessments, retail discounts, and pension options. At Nuffield Health, we take care of what matters to you.

Our modern hospital is located near Oxford, a renowned centre for surgical and medical excellence. We feature 6 well-equipped operating theatres and 64 ensuite rooms.

We offer a broad range of surgical specialties and clinics, including Paediatrics, Oncology, Interventional Cardiology & Radiology, Orthopaedics, Endoscopy, Gynaecology, Urology, Ophthalmology, and women's and men's health clinics. The hospital has excellent transport links to London, Thames Valley, and the Midlands.

The theatre complex includes 6 main theatres, 2 minor theatres, a six-bed Level 2 PACU, and a 6-bed CCU. Flexible working options are available, including part-time, term-time, compressed hours, and job sharing. Staff can also opt to stay in staff accommodation during their first six months.
