Job summary

Avencia Talent Solutions Limited is seeking a Development Underwriter specializing in the Care Sector to join our UK Commercial Insurance team. You will underwrite complex Care Sector risks, including charitable organisations, and develop broker relationships to deliver sustainable growth.

You'll work closely with underwriting, distribution, claims, actuarial and risk colleagues to create propositions, mentor colleagues, and help shape the Care Sector proposition for continued expansion across

Qualifications

5+ years of experience underwriting Care within a commercial insurance environment.
Strong technical underwriting and portfolio management experience.
Proven track record of developing broker relationships and generating new business.
Excellent trading, negotiation and commercial decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

Underwrite complex Care Sector risks, including charitable organisations, within authorities.
Develop and convert new business opportunities, delivering growth targets.
Build strong relationships with brokers and distribution partners.
Maintain visibility across broker panels with visits and market engagement.
Manage pipeline and broker activity via CRM and underwriting systems.
Collaborate with Claims, Risk, Actuarial, Distribution and Operations.
Mentor colleagues and promote high underwriting standards.
