Job summary

Voyage Care is seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Service Manager to lead one of our specialist residential services in the Southampton area. This is a hands‑on leadership role in a supportive, person‑centred environment.

You will oversee regulatory compliance, drive quality improvements, manage budgets and develop a skilled staff team to deliver safe, high‑quality support for adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience as a Registered Manager in regulated adult social care.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or willing to work towards).
• Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism.
• Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, governance and compliance.
• Proven ability to develop teams and improve service quality.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Hands-on, visible leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Lead the service day-to-day operations and performance.
• Manage budgets and service performance.
• Lead, coach and develop the staff team.
• Ensure safe, person-centred support and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare for inspections and maintain governance standards.
• Engage with families, professionals and commissioners.
• Support recruitment and ongoing development of colleagues.
• Participate in on‑call rota.

Voyage Care is seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Service Manager to lead one of our specialist residential services in the Southampton area.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and capable leader to join a well-established service supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, epilepsy and behaviours.

The service has strong foundations, a committed staff team and a person-centred culture. We are now looking for an experienced manager who can provide visible leadership, drive quality improvements and support the service in achieving its full potential.

This role would particularly suit someone who enjoys making a real impact, developing teams and delivering outstanding outcomes for the people they support.

About the Role

As Registered Service Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the service.

• Working closely with families, professionals and internal stakeholders, you will lead the team to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred support whilst maintaining full regulatory compliance and driving continuous improvement.
• Your responsibilities will include:
• Managing the day‑to‑day running of the service
• Leading, coaching and developing the staff team
• Driving quality, compliance and service improvement initiatives
• Completing audits, action plans and regulatory reporting
• Managing budgets and service performance
• Ensuring safe, effective and person‑centred support is delivered
• Building positive relationships with families, professionals and commissioners
• Supporting recruitment, induction and ongoing development of colleagues
• Preparing the service for future inspections and maintaining high standards of governance
• Participating in the on‑call rota as required

What We're Looking For

Due to the nature and current priorities of the service, we are seeking a manager who can confidently hit the ground running and bring proven leadership experience.

You will have:

• A minimum of three years' experience as a Registered Manager within a regulated adult social care setting
• A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent) or willing to work towards level 5
• Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism
• Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, governance and compliance requirements
• A track record of developing teams and improving service quality
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, visible and hands‑on leadership style
