Job summary

Royal Borough of Greenwich is seeking a Personal Advisor to support care leavers aged 16-25 through direct work, group activities and pathway planning. You will assess needs, review plans, and help them transition into adulthood with practical guidance and ongoing encouragement.

You will work within the Leaving Care Team, engaging diverse young people, maintaining records, and ensuring safeguarding standards, including Enhanced DBS clearance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the relevant legal and regulatory frameworks relating to care leavers.
• Knowledge of education, training, employment and housing related to young people leaving care.
• Understanding safeguarding procedures and promoting welfare for young people.
• Ability to engage and motivate care leavers from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Carry a caseload of care leavers aged 16-25 and provide direct work.
• Deliver group-work and activity programmes to support outcomes.
• Assess needs and create/review Pathway Plans.
• Support young people through transition into adulthood.
• Motivate clients to use available resources and services.
• Be part of the Leaving Care Team and maintain accurate electronic records.
