Job summary

Cygnet Sherwood Lodge is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support 30 hours per week at Mansfield. You will help prepare meals, perform basic cooking tasks, wash and store utensils, and assist with stock checks while maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene standards.

You’ll work under supervision in a care setting, ensuring COSHH compliance and safe handling of kitchen equipment. A DBS check is typically required.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering is preferred, especially in care settings.
• Must maintain high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist the kitchen team in preparing balanced meals.
• Carry out basic food preparation and kitchen duties.
• Wash utensils and store them properly.
• Sort and check deliveries, assist with stock ordering.
• Maintain hygiene and clean the kitchen to COSHH standards.
• Handle and store kitchen equipment safely.
