Job summary

Excelcare's St Georges Court Care Home in Cambridge is seeking a Bank Kitchen Assistant to join the kitchen team and prepare nutritious meals for residents. You will follow planned menus and maintain high hygiene standards while assisting during mealtimes to enhance dining experiences.

You will work under the Chef, using fresh ingredients with emphasis on resident choice and dietary needs. The role offers part-time hours, on-site parking, and enhancements on bank holidays.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in catering and hospitality or equivalent by experience.
• 12 months experience in managing a kitchen.
• Experience cooking for large numbers with attention to hygiene.

Responsibilities

• As a Kitchen Assistant, assist the Chef to prepare and cook nutritious meals for residents.
• Follow scheduled meal plans and accommodate dietary requirements.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Support at mealtimes to enhance dining experiences for residents.
• Respect residents' choices and preferences regarding meals.
• Check kitchen equipment and report faults to the Chef; adhere to Health & Safety guidelines.
