Job summary

Friends of the Elderly is seeking a Shift Leader at New Copford Place in Copford, Colchester. You will lead a care team to deliver person-centred care, ensuring residents are safe, respected and supported to maintain independence and dignity.

The role requires a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or working towards it), strong communication skills, and the ability to handle medication procedures and accurate handovers within a busy care home environment.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or be working towards it.
• Experience in a care home environment is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Strong safeguarding awareness and reporting skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Ensure residents are safe and comfortable.
• Act as champion for residents' safety and dignity.
• Lead the team in delivering person-centred care.
• Maintain clear, accurate records and handovers.
• Follow procedures for medication ordering, administration and dispensing.
• Conduct staff supervisions and appraisals.
• Maintain a clean, safe workplace and follow infection control policies.
