Friends of the Elderly is recruiting a Shift Leader at New Copford Place, Colchester. The role focuses on delivering person-centred care, supporting residents to stay independent and regain dignity, while leading the team and ensuring accurate records and medication procedures are followed.

Applicants should have prior care home experience, and a Level 3 Health and Social Care diploma (or be working towards it). The role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends and some unsociable hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care home setting is essential.
• Must have Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification or be working towards it.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred care and support residents to maintain independence and dignity.
• Lead the care team in line with procedures and policies and supervise staff.
• Follow medication procedures, maintain records, and ensure safety.
• Conduct staff supervisions and appraisals and promote development.
• Maintain a clean, safe workplace and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Work pattern includes days, evenings, weekends and some unsociable hours.
