Job summary

Springcare Care Homes Ltd is seeking a skilled maintenance person to join our team. You will help keep our home safe, well-maintained and welcoming for residents, with a focus on practical repairs and preventative upkeep.

Your day could involve carpentry, plumbing, painting and routine safety checks, contributing to a high standard of living for our residents. Experience in similar environments and a full driving licence are desirable.

Qualifications

• Commitment to delivering a high standard of work in care home settings.
• Sensitivity to the needs of older residents and mindful approach.
• Proactive with ability to prioritise tasks and adapt to ad hoc needs.

• Comfortable using basic computer/handheld device tasks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative maintenance and general building repairs such as fixing locks and fittings.
• Perform routine checks on equipment and services (fire alarms, extinguishers, fire doors).
• Handle minor plumbing and carpentry tasks as required.
• Paint and decorate to maintain safe, pleasant environments.
• Keep external areas clean, tidy and free from trip hazards.
• Change light bulbs and manage stock of bulbs, batteries, and small equipment.
• Check that lights and equipment are working before weekends/bank holidays.
• Provide meter readings for utilities and boilers as needed.
