Job summary

Wood Care Group in Salford is seeking a maintenance person to keep our busy care home clean, safe and well maintained. You will apply basic plumbing, painting and general DIY skills to support residents and staff.

You may be required to travel to other Wood Care Group homes in the area. We value kindness, reliability and clear communication, with flexible shifts and opportunities for training.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Care Home environment is desirable but not essential.
• Experience of basic DIY skills such as plumbing, painting and decorating.
• A committed and organised approach, to ensure that checks are completed on time.
• A confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible to work shifts.

Responsibilities

• Attend Staff Meetings.
• Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing needs of the home and participate in training.
• Safeguarding responsibilities and skills to reduce risk of abuse or neglect to adults who need care.
• Provide evidence of any untaken training.
• Comply with fire procedures and health and safety legislation and work in a safe environment.
• Complete all training as determined by the home.
