Job summary

Clarence Park Care Home is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help keep our Victorian townhouse environment safe, well maintained and welcoming in Weston-super-Mare.

You will carry out a range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including basic electrical checks, repairs and general upkeep, while working alongside a dedicated team in a busy care setting. This is a 22.5 hour per week role paying £13.73 per hour, with DBS, pension and uniform provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Basic knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.
• A proactive, practical and problem solving approach.
• Reliable, organised and able to work within a care environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, basic electrical checks, installations and general upkeep.
• Ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, responding promptly to issues and supporting planned maintenance.
• Working independently and alongside the wider team, you will follow health and safety procedures, support compliance checks and be mindful of working within an occupied care environment, ensuring tasks are completed safely and with minimal disruption.
• Your role will contribute to maintaining a well organised, safe and welcoming environment at all times.
