Job summary

Bupa is seeking a part-time Maintenance Operative for Elm Grove Care Home, Cirencester. You will perform safety checks, routine maintenance and timely repairs to uphold high standards. A full driving licence and building services knowledge are essential.

The role is 11 hours per week (2 x 5.5 hour days). You may support other local homes within a reasonable distance. We offer benefits and a structured environment aligned with Bupa's care ethos.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of building services incl. heating, hot/cold-water, ventilation, electrical, plumbing.
• Understanding of building fabric and maintenance.
• Experience with planned maintenance systems and record-keeping.
• Knowledge of statutory requirements and compliance.
• Full driving licence.
• Trade qualifications or substantial hands-on experience in property maintenance.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Computer literate.
• Customer service skills.
• Flexible to changing demands in a care home.
• Experience in painting and decorating.

Responsibilities

• Carry out health and safety and compliance checks using digital systems within timescales.
• Action and close tasks assigned by Maintenance Manager or home.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness to EH, Fire Authority, Legionella and H&S requirements.
• Complete maintenance/repair tasks to a high standard and provide value for money.
• Document residents' space preferences and act on them.
• Report defects, obtain quotes and manage repairs with approved contractors.
