Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Maintenance Operative for Braintree Mews Care Home in Braintree. You will help keep the building and grounds well maintained, carrying out routine maintenance tasks and basic repairs across electrical, plumbing, joinery and building systems inside and outside the home.

The role requires a driving licence, a year of maintenance experience or a trade qualification, and knowledge of health and safety, with on-call emergency cover as part of the

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year's experience in general maintenance or handy person role.
• Hold a full driving licence.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Be adaptable to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the building and grounds, undertake routine maintenance tasks and checks, and apply basic fixes to equipment and systems to keep facilities fully functional.
• Carry out general maintenance tasks and basic repairs including electrical, plumbing, joinery and building work inside and outside the Home.
• Support new residents to arrange their room as they wish.
• Ensure routine re-decoration is undertaken to maintain home standards.
• Advise on the supply and quality of items needed and ordering of replacements.
• Provide out-of-hours emergency service and participate in the on-call rota.
