Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a Maintenance Operative for Birchwood Grange Care Home in London. The role involves keeping the building and grounds well maintained, carrying out routine maintenance, and supporting residents with room setup and decor.

You will also participate in the on-call rota and provide out-of-hours coverage. Candidates should have at least one year of maintenance/handy Person experience or a trade qualification, a full driving licence, and knowledge ofHealth and Safety

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year's experience in a general maintenance or handy person role and/or a professional trade qualification.
• Holder of a full driving licence.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, including Moving and Handling, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance tasks and basic repairs including electrical, plumbing, joinery and building work inside and outside the home.
• Support new residents to arrange their room and decor.
• Advise on supplies and ordering of replacement goods to maintain standards.
• Provide out-of-hours emergency service and participate in the on-call rota.
