Job summary

Cornwallis Care Services Ltd is seeking a kind and conscientious Housekeeper to help create a warm, clean and safe home for residents. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and a person-centred approach to support daily life.

The role covers cleaning and laundry in a supportive team, with pay enhancements for extra shifts and for weekends/bank holidays. DBS check, uniform and parking are provided, and you’ll have training to help you brighten residents' days.

Qualifications

• Naturally kind, caring and compassionate.

• Able to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
• Willingness to work in both cleaning and laundry areas of the home.

Responsibilities

• Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures.
• Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, sinks, and countertops.
• Making beds and changing linens.
• Using cleaning tools such as vacuums, mops, and cloths effectively.
• Keeping bathrooms stocked with toiletries and fresh towels.
• Cleaning mirrors, glass surfaces, and communal areas.
• Tidying and refreshing residents’ rooms.
• Monitoring and ordering cleaning supplies as required.
• Reporting repairs or maintenance issues promptly.
• Assisting in laundry duties and ensuring cleanliness throughout the home.
• Interacting positively with residents — joining conversations, offering a smile, and contributing to their sense of home.
