Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a General Manager for Acacia Mews Care Home in Hatfield to lead a dedicated care team and deliver person-centred, safe, high-quality care while meeting regulatory and business targets.

You will recruit, develop and inspire staff, maintain safe staffing, manage budgets, and collaborate with residents, families, and health professionals. DBS clearance and UK work eligibility required.

Qualifications

• Have four years of experience in a similar care environment.
• Leadership and Management Level 5 or equivalent.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Excellent communication verbally and in writing; competent in IT.
• Adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.
• Recruitment, retention, and development of staff within the Home.
• Acting as a focal point for contact with residents, relatives, visitors, and health and social care professionals.
• Ensuring safe staffing levels are reviewed and maintained.
• Providing inspirational leadership and management to the staff team.
• Managing costs within budgetary controls, reviewing stock regularly.

About The Role

Your focus as General Manager will be to lead and inspire a team to deliver excellent person‑centred quality care to residents in a safe, caring and stimulating environment, whilst meeting regulatory requirement, professional and statutory standards, and business performance targets.

Other Responsibilities Will Include

• Ensuring the consistent delivery of high‑quality care, person centred care and ensuring residents receive care based on best practice.
• Being responsible for the ongoing recruitment, retention, and development of staff within the Home.
• Acting as a focal point for contact with residents, their relatives, and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in resident’s wellbeing.
• Ensuring safe staffing levels are reviewed and maintained in accordance with both occupancy and dependency.
• Providing on‑going inspirational leadership and management to the staff team.
• Ensuring costs are well managed and maintained within budgetary controls, by reviewing regularly and monitoring stock.

• Have Leadership and Management Level 5 or equivalent.
