Job summary

Bupa UK is seeking a Maintenance Operative for Harts House Care Home in Woodford Green. The role is permanent and full-time (37.5 hours weekly). Salary ranges from £13.55 to £16.61 per hour based on experience.

You will maintain buildings and equipment, ensure compliance with SOPs, and support a high standard of care in a person-centred environment, with regional maintenance duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Understanding of heating, hot and cold-water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution and plumbing.
• Experience with planned maintenance systems and record keeping.
• Knowledge of statutory requirements and compliance processes.
• Full driving licence required.
• Trade qualification (or 3+ years hands-on experience) in building/electrical/plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Carry out health, safety and compliance checks using digital systems within set timescales.
• Close tasks assigned by Maintenance Manager or Home Manager.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness to Environmental Health and Fire Authority standards.
• Complete maintenance and repair tasks to a high standard and efficiently.
• Document residents' space preferences and act on them where required.
• Obtain quotes and manage repairs with approved contractors.
• Escalate irreparable defects to Home or Property/Maintenance Manager.
• Support refurbishment and capex projects with minimal disruption.
