Qualifications

• Previous experience as a chef or cook; healthcare setting welcome.
• Passion for nutritious, appetising food.
• Knowledge of food safety, allergens and dietary requirements.
• Relevant catering qualification and food hygiene certificate.
• Strong organisational skills and workload management.
• Caring and flexible approach to residents' preferences.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve high-quality meals for residents.
• Plan varied, balanced menus reflecting preferences and nutritional needs.
• Cater for dietary requirements and modified-texture diets.
• Work with care team to understand residents' changing needs.
• Seek residents' feedback to improve menus and dining experience.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Complete kitchen records and temperature checks.
• Manage food orders, stock rotation and storage with minimal waste.
• Work within budgets while maintaining quality.
• Ensure safe use of kitchen equipment and report issues.
