Job summary

Keys Group is seeking an experienced Care Home Cook for Cedar House in Neath Port Talbot. The role involves preparing 40–50 meals daily, accommodating special dietary needs, and promoting dignity and choice for adults with mental health and learning disabilities.

35 hours per week, with evenings, nights and weekends as required. The successful candidate will possess a Food Hygiene Certificate and experience in a fresh food kitchen, plus knowledge of special diets and a passion for high‑quality

Qualifications

• Experience in a fresh food kitchen.
• Experience cooking pureed meals for people with swallowing difficulties.
• Knowledge of diabetic, low cholesterol and healthy eating plans.
• Passion for home cooking and high standards.

Responsibilities

• Cook 40–50 meals per day and create menus with the people we support.
• Respond to dietary requirements while promoting choice, dignity and respect.
• Manage kitchen supplies and check/maintain equipment.
• Order food and manage a budget.
• Complete paperwork such as COSHH and HACCP in line with policies.
• Occasionally cater for ad hoc events and celebrations.
