Job Opportunity: Chef at Telford Care Home

Owen Payne is looking to recruit a chef to assist the head chef at an established care home in Telford.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Head Chef with menu creation, ensuring residents' specific dietary requirements are considered to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
2. Prepare and cook food/meals according to the agreed menu, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation, using the best available ingredients.
3. Ensure the food prepared is wholesome and nourishing, aligned with dietary needs and preferences.
4. Assist the Head Chef in meeting all regulatory and statutory requirements, ensuring hygiene standards are consistently achieved and maintained.
5. Mentor and supervise the ongoing training and development of kitchen assistants.

About You:

You should have the ability to oversee a small team and step in for the Head Chef when needed. A focus on delivering and maintaining an exceptional dining experience is essential. You will have previous experience as a Chef or possess the skills and experience to progress into this role. Holding a formal catering qualification is required, along with the ability to plan nutritious meals considering specific dietary requirements, including an understanding of IDDSI modified foods. Knowledge of HACCP, COSHH, and Health & Safety protocols is necessary. You should be personable, enthusiastic, and passionate about providing quality food to our residents.
