Job summary

gobecare is seeking an experienced Chef for a care home setting in Newmains/Wishaw. The role offers full-time hours, 40 per week, with shifts from 7am to 7pm and no late nights, paying £14-£15 per hour depending on experience.

The ideal candidate has care home or busy kitchen experience, a relevant SVQ/NVQ, and a passion for nutritious, home-cooked meals within a supportive team. Competitive benefits and ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

• Previous Chef experience within a Care Home or busy commercial kitchen.
• SVQ/NVQ qualification in Food Preparation or Cooking (preferred).
• Passion for producing nutritious, home-cooked meals.
• Works well within a fast-paced team environment.
• Understands the importance of nutrition and resident wellbeing.
• Takes pride in delivering exceptional food and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh, high-quality meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Plan and create varied, balanced menus.
• Manage stock control and kitchen ordering.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment and practices meet health & safety regulations.
• Work closely with the wider care team to provide an outstanding dining experience for residents.
