Job summary

Shaw Healthcare is seeking a Chef at West View, a dementia and residential care home in Tenterden, Kent. You will prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals, working 35 hours weekly with shifts 9:30–17:30 or 8:30–16:30, and alternating weekends.

You will liaise with the Home Manager and Nutritional Therapist to ensure fresh, home-cooked food daily and cater for residents’ dietary needs while maintaining HACCP standards.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing, cooking and serving meals for residents.
• Ability to cater for diverse dietary needs in a care home.
• Knowledge of HACCP/cossh guidelines and food hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Home Manager to provide high-quality, home-cooked meals daily.
• Establish rapport with residents and families to meet dietary needs.
• Prepare, cook and serve meals in a timely manner.
• Order supplies within budget and follow policy with approved suppliers.
• Maintain catering records and support health inspections.
