KPI-Recruiting-Ltd is seeking an experienced Care Home Chef to work across Oxfordshire care homes. You will prepare fresh, nutritious meals, manage portions, and cater to dietary needs while maintaining high safety and hygiene standards.

These roles offer flexible shifts, regular assignments, weekly pay, and immediate starts for suitable candidates with DBS clearance and relevant kitchen experience.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will have enhanced DBS clearance.
• Experience as Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, Head Chef, Chef or Cook.
• Experience in care homes, healthcare, education or high-volume catering.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Experience cooking for larger groups.
• Understanding nutritional needs of older people.
• Experience catering for dietary needs and allergies.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and stay calm under pressure.
• Flexible and reliable for temporary/agency work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present fresh, nutritious meals for residents.
• Plan and prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks per service requirements.
• Cater for allergies, diabetes, vegetarian, vegan, and texture-modified meals.
• Ensure meals are well presented and tailored to residents' preferences.
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.
• Complete daily food safety checks and temperature logs.
• Follow HACCP procedures and food hygiene regulations.
• Store food, ingredients and cleaning products safely.
• Follow company policies on health & safety and safeguarding.
• Adapt to different kitchen teams and environments.

Job description

We have ongoing opportunities for anexperienced Care Home Chef to work within care home settings across Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas. Whether you're looking for a few shifts each week or full-time/temporary work, we have regular assignments to suit your availability.

This is a rewarding opportunity for chefs who enjoy preparing fresh, nutritious meals and understand the important role food plays in residents' wellbeing and daily experience. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality meals while ensuring all dietary requirements, food safety procedures and quality standards are met.

Working across a variety of care homes, you'll need to adapt quickly to different kitchen environments while maintaining excellent standards of food preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities as a Care Home Chef:

• Prepare, cook and present fresh, nutritious meals for residents.
• Plan and prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks in line with service requirements.
• Cater for a range of dietary needs, including allergies, diabetic diets, vegetarian, vegan and texture-modified meals.
• Ensure meals are well presented and tailored to residents' preferences wherever possible.
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.
• Complete daily food safety checks, including temperature monitoring and kitchen records.
• Follow HACCP procedures and ensure compliance with food hygiene regulations.
• Store food, ingredients and cleaning products safely and correctly.
• Follow all company policies relating to Health & Safety, infection control and safeguarding.
• Adapt confidently to different kitchen teams and working environments.

Skills & Experience required for a Care Home Chef:

The successful candidate will have:

• Enhanced DBS

• Previous experience as a Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, Head Chef, Chef or Cook.
• Experience working in care homes, healthcare, education, hospitality or other high-volume catering environments.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and food safety standards.
• Experience preparing meals for larger groups.
• An understanding of the nutritional requirements of older people.
• Experience catering for specialist dietary requirements and allergies.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
• The ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
• A flexible and reliable approach to temporary and agency work.
