Job summary

KINGSLEY HEALTHCARE GROUP is seeking an Activities Coordinator at Heron Lodge Nursing Home, Wroxham. The role focuses on delivering stimulating daily activities to enhance residents' wellbeing and socialisation.

The part-time position (24 hours per week) requires creativity, empathy, and strong communication to engage elderly residents in theatre, art, music, hospitality and events. Training, DBS will be provided, with opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification in a relevant field is an advantage.
• Experience in arts, theatre, music or hospitality supports activity programmes.
• Experience with elderly or care residents is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate engaging activities promoting wellbeing and social interaction.
• Organise events and outings tailored to residents' interests and abilities.
• Support residents' needs and provide one-to-one companionship, documenting observations.
• Collaborate with staff, relatives and Home Manager to ensure safe, inclusive activities.

About The Role

As an Activities Coordinator, you will ensure all our residents enjoy a stimulating, fulfilling and happy lifestyle. You will use your experience in the arts, theatre, music, hospitality and event hosting to create and implement a wide variety of daily activities and programmes for our residents to enjoy that also encourage wellbeing, socialisation and harmony throughout our care home.

Part Time - 24 hours per week

If you have previous experience as a Lifestyle Coordinator, Activities Coordinator or a similar role in a care, community, leisure, hospitality or event management environment, come and join our family in our care home.

Reports to: Home Manager/ Regional Hospitality & Lifestyle Manager

Key duties and responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate activities to provide a varied, engaging programme that promotes residents’ wellbeing, independence and social interaction.
• Organise events and outings, including celebrations, birthdays and group activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
• Support residents’ individual needs by encouraging hobbies, assisting those with limited mobility or disabilities, and providing one-to-one companionship.
• Maintain accurate records by documenting activities, completing social care assessments and recording observations in residents’ care plans.
• Communicate and work collaboratively with care staff, residents, relatives and the Home Manager to ensure activities are safe, inclusive and well-coordinated.

• Strong organisational skills, creativity, and the ability to think outside the box.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with residents, staff, and families.
• Knowledge of and experience in theatre, art, music, hospitality, and event hosting.
• Ability to lead group activities and manage volunteers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A high level of empathy and an understanding of the needs of elderly and disabled residents.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances and schedules.

Education and qualification

• A formal qualification in a relevant field, e.g. leisure, lifestyle, hospitality or event management, is an advantage.
