Job summary

Cornwall Partnership is seeking a General Services Assistant for Longreach House in Redruth. The role covers general domestic services including meals support, with a 28-hour per week contract and a 14‑day rota involving early/late shifts, weekends and bank holidays.

Full training will be provided; prior experience is beneficial but not required. The post is part of a Trust delivering NHS community and hospital care in Cornwall.

Qualifications

• Good basic Maths and English proficiency.
• Experience working in a care setting.
• Reliable, motivated and detail‑oriented with a patient‑focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Clean all floor surfaces, furniture, fixtures and dispose of refuse per protocol.
• Clean crockery, utensils and kitchen surfaces to high hygiene standards.
• Monitor catering and cleaning stock as required by the building.
• Carry out food and beverage preparation and regeneration of cook/freeze per hygiene standards.
• Reduce cross contamination by using PPE provided.
• Be accountable for keys and equipment issued or used during duty.
• Carry out light portering duties as requested.
• Assist with stock ordering and monitoring as required by the GSA Supervisor.
• Duties may include weekend and bank holiday work with salary enhancements.
