Job summary

IPS Group, a market-leading specialist insurer, is recruiting a Development Underwriter into its Care team for Midlands & South. This newly created, market-facing role combines underwriting expertise with business development, owning broker relationships and driving growth in a profitable portfolio.

You'll spend substantial time meeting brokers, attending industry events, and increasing the insurer's visibility across the territory.

Qualifications

• Experience in building broker relationships and developing new business.
• Underwriting experience, preferably in Care or Charity sector.
• Commercially minded hunter with ability to balance growth and underwriting discipline.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated with autonomy; willing to travel to meet brokers.

Responsibilities

• Identify and convert new business opportunities and broker relationships.
• Develop and manage broker relationships across Midlands and Southern regions.
• Underwrite profitable business within authority.
• Attend industry events and meet brokers to raise visibility.
• Balance underwriting discipline with growth objectives.
