Job summary

Leuchie House in East Lothian is seeking a part-time care assistant to provide person-centred care and assist guests with daily living activities, personal care and nutrition. You will respond to call bells, record care delivered, and support guests with dignity, independence and wellbeing in a compassionate team.

Full training is provided, PVG checks are required, and a valid UK driving licence is preferred due to the remote location.

Qualifications

  • Right to work in the UK (essential)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred due to remote location)
  • No experience necessary (fully funded training provided)
  • Good communication skills
  • Caring and compassionate
  • Positive, friendly, can-do attitude
  • Completion of a satisfactory PVG check

Responsibilities

  • Support guests with personal care, daily living activities and nutrition.
  • Respond to call bells and report any concerns to nursing staff.
  • Record care provided and changes using care documentation systems.
  • Promote dignity, independence, equality and choice for all guests.
  • Support the emotional and wellbeing needs of guests and visitors.
  • Follow all Leuchie House policies and care plans.
  • Follow Health & Safety, hygiene, COSHH and manual handling procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as required.

THE ROLE

Working as a key member of a multi-disciplinary care team, you'll provide person-centred care to guests supporting them with daily activities including personal care.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Hours

Twilight shifts worked on a fortnightly basis, totalling 39 hours per fortnight (usually 5pm-11:30pm).
