Job summary

Rota Support LTD is seeking Healthcare Assistants to cover ad-hoc, flexible shifts across care homes in the Thetford area. Shifts are 0 hours and booked to fit client rotas, with potential progression to full- or part-time hours.

Candidates should have at least 4 months' care home experience, good English, and a compassionate, patient approach. The role requires an enhanced DBS check and proof of right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, feeding, toilet).

• Provide reassurance and communicate with patients; support nurses.

Rota Support LTD specialises in the supply of permanent and temporary Care, Nursing & Support staff into the private healthcare sector, including care homes for the elderly, nursing homes, learning disability and mental health services, as well as private hospitals.

About the Role

We are looking to recruit Healthcare Assistants located in Thetford that are looking for ad-hoc, flexible shifts. These shifts can accumulate into either full time hours or part time hours, but will be offered on a 0 hours contract. The role will include working at different homes and services covering gaps in our clients rotas due to annual leave, maternity leave, sickness and vacancies. These shifts may arise at short notice due to last minute emergencies, whilst also being booked weeks in advance, depending on the clients needs.

Everyday tasks will consist of the following, but not be limited to;

• Assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding and using the toilet
• Utilising equipment to move patients when necessary
• Helping tidy the patient's home or room
• Taking the patient's vital signs such as blood pressure and temperature
• Talking to patients and reassuring them
• Assisting nurses and other staff when needed

About the Person

A suitable candidate for this position will be somebody that has a minimum of 4 months experience in a care home previously. Somebody that has a good understanding of spoken and written English. Somebody that is compassionate, patient and enjoys helping others.
