Job summary

Bield Housing & Care in Glasgow is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Assistant (Retirement Plus) to join the Coxton Gardens team. You will help maintain cleanliness in common areas and assist with meals for tenants, supporting independent living in a warm, safe environment.

The role is 12 hours per week across a rotating schedule, including weekends. Training will be provided, and there are additional hours available in other services where possible.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar post is desirable, although training will be provided.
• Ability to assist with food preparation of a meal where guidance is provided and the ability to heat a prepared meal or prepare a simple evening meal.
• Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the common areas of the development.
• Ability to calmly and appropriately respond to calls for assistance including occasional emergency situations i.e. fire alarm sounding, flood within the development.
• Ability to follow simple procedures involving development equipment.
• Ability to work without supervision.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work over a shift rota including days, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a range of duties to keep the development clean in all common areas.
• Assist the Cook with preparation and delivery of meals to tenants in line with safety standards.
• Provide general assistance to tenants on development-related matters.
• Work as part of a team to deliver high quality care and support, promoting independent living and a safe environment.
