Job summary

This Care Assistant role is based in the residential care team at Westbourne Tower Care Home, part of Avery Healthcare. It focuses on personal care and continuity of care, while monitoring residents for clinical risks and escalating concerns.

No previous experience is required, and induction and training are provided to support residents’ independence and dignity. Applicants need a DBS disclosure and proof of eligibility to work in the UK, with Avery covering the DBS cost.

• Work efficiently and follow reasonable instructions from team members.
• Adaptability and flexibility to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to residents, including hygiene care, while supporting their independence and treating them with dignity and respect.
• Contribute to the care team to maintain high standards and continuity of services.
• Recognise risks such as weight loss, pressure sores, falls and signs of infection, and upscale concerns promptly.
• Treat residents and visitors courteously and respect each resident’s dignity and individuality.
• Follow safe systems of work across the range of tasks.
