Job summary

SkyCare is seeking Female Care Assistants to join our care team in the UK. You must have the right to work in the UK and live within a commutable distance, with full-time hours of 33-44 per week. Salary is £12.82 per hour, and no sponsorship is provided.

Responsibilities include personal care, daily living assistance, therapeutic engagement, monitoring and reporting to nursing staff. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred care and respond to crises when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care role; dementia, brain injury and nursing home experience desirable.
• Care Certificate or equivalent desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Cheerful, compassionate and respectful approach; good communication.
• Understanding the needs of vulnerable adults; ability to take initiative.

The Nursing home offers a range of specialist care for residents, ranging from Alzeimer's and Parkinsons care to care for stroke victims.

Successful applicants, will have 1-2 years experience preferably in a similar role.

This position is crucial in the healthcare system, as Mental Health Care Assistants play a vital role in helping individuals manage their mental health conditions and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Provide personal care and support to patients, including assistance with daily living activities such as eating, bathing, and dressing.
• Therapeutic Engagement: Engage with patients in therapeutic activities to promote recovery and alleviate distress. This includes identifying factors that may increase agitation and employing de-escalation techniques when necessary.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Observe and document patients' conditions, including any changes in behavior or mood, and report these to the nursing staff.
• Supportive Environment: Create a safe and compassionate environment for patients, ensuring their dignity and privacy are respected at all times.
• Collaboration: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, psychiatrists, and social workers, to implement care plans and support patients effectively.
• Crisis Intervention: Recognize signs of distress or crisis in patients and respond appropriately to ensure their safety and well-being.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience in a care role, experience with dementia, brain injury and nursing home is desirable
• Certifications: Holding a Care Certificate or equivalent is typically desirable.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Cheerful, compassionate, respectful, and caring approach, and have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good understanding of the needs of vulnerable adults and the desire to make a positive contribution to the lives of others.
• Ability to work on own initiative
