Job summary

Empowering U Healthcare is seeking dedicated Care Assistants / Healthcare Assistants to support children and adults with complex needs at home. The role requires a highly skilled, person-centred approach to ensure safety, dignity and quality of life for a 12-year-old female client.

Hours include Monday and Wednesday nights, 21:30 to 07:30, with pay in the £12.71–£14.72 per hour range. We are a nurse-led organisation focused on compassion, dignity and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, patient, and reliable traits are essential.
• Strong spoken and written English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Enhanced DBS required.

Responsibilities

• Ventilation management: monitor respiratory status, maintain equipment, recognise deterioration, respond to emergencies.
• Home Oxygen therapy: ensure safe administration and monitor saturation where prescribed.
• Medication Management: safe administration, recording, storage and monitoring of prescribed meds.
• Epilepsy and Rescue Medication: staff trained to recognise seizures and administer rescue meds.
• PEG Feeding support: administer nutrition, medication via PEG, care for stoma site, recognise complications.

We are currently recruiting dedicated Care Assistants / Healthcare Assistants to support both children and adults with complex needs.

Available Role:

Client: Supporting a 12-year-old female at home with the following complex health and care needs requires a highly skilled, person-centred approach to ensure safety, comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
Hours: Monday and Wednesday Night - 21:30 - 07:30
Pay: £12.71 - £14.72

About The Role

Duties include:

• Ventilation management, including monitoring respiratory status, maintaining equipment, recognising signs of deterioration, and responding to emergencies.
• Home Oxygen therapy, ensuring safe administration, monitoring oxygen saturation where prescribed, and following oxygen safety procedures.
• Medication Management, including the safe administration, recording, storage, and monitoring of prescribed medications.
• Epilepsy and Rescue Medication, requiring staff trained to recognise seizure activity, administer prescribed rescue medication, and follow emergency protocols.
• PEG Feeding support, including administration of nutrition, hydration, medication via PEG, stoma site care, and recognition of complications.

• Assist with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and daily activities
• Promote independence, dignity, and emotional wellbeing
• Build trusting relationships with clients and families
• Follow all health & safety regulations and company policies

Required Criteria

• Compassionate, patient, and reliable
• Strong spoken and written English
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Enhanced DBS required

Desired Criteria

• Experience with children or complex needs preferred but not essential
• Full UK driving licence & access to a vehicle preferred
