Job summary

Qualifications

• Effective communication, both verbal and written.
• Initiative and respect towards residents and others in the home.
• Efficient worker who can carry out reasonable instructions from team members.
• Adaptable and flexible, able to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of personal care, contributing to the care team to ensure continuity of services.
• Assist residents with all aspects of personal hygiene, promoting independence, dignity and respect.
• Recognise and understand clinical risks such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls and signs of infection.
• Escalate identified risks in a timely manner.
• Act courteously towards residents and visitors, respecting each resident's dignity and individuality.
• Practise safe systems of work across the range of tasks.
