Job summary

Bluebird Care Cardiff and the Vale is seeking a caring and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team and help set the standard in home care. You will support customers with daily living activities in their own homes, working independently or with a supportive team.

We offer expert training, flexible shift patterns and a competitive hourly rate of £13.45–£16.00, with higher rates on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Responsibilities

As a Care Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

• Providing essential personal care and companionship
• Assisting with meal prep, shopping, and household tasks
• Supporting with medication management
• Encouraging independence to help customers stay in their own homes
• A set amount of PAID hours for E-Learning
• PAID shadowing shifts
• Guaranteed Hours Contracts available after probation

Competitive Pay:

• £13.45 per hour
• £20.00 per hour Christmas day, Boxing Day and New years day

Requirements

• A Full UK driving licence and access to a car
• To be living in the local area
• The ability to work alternate weekends
• To commit to working a minimum of one evening shift per week
• A kind, compassionate attitude and a calm approach to care
• Great communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
• Ability to follow care plansPrevious care experience is beneficial but not a necessity as full training will be provided.
• ABI experience is also desirable, but not essential.
