Job description

Company Description

Home Instead Tavistock and Tamar Valley is a family run, OUTSTANDING CQC rated company. We are looking for kind and compassionate home care workers to join our ever-growing team.

The commitment we at Home Instead place on caring is not limited to our valued clients; it extends to our team, too. We genuinely believe that our Care Professionals' wellbeing and career development is as crucial as the outstanding service they deliver. As they say, when one thrives, the entire team flourishes.

A UK driving license and a car are a necessity, as is flexible availability between 8am - 9pm.

Job Description

When our Care Professionals meet a client, it isn't a mere introduction; it's the beginning of a bond. We ensure that this initial meeting feels personal, akin to meeting a long-time friend. This is underlined by our “Buddy & Shadow visits" approach. By the time our professionals meet their clients, they know a bit about them and understand the things they enjoy doing - ensuring they are prepared, confident, and understanding of the client's unique needs.

Help clients to remain happy, healthy and thriving in their own homes!

  1. Help with washing, dressing or bathing.
  2. Companionship and well being support.
  3. Help with everyday tasks from cooking a meal to light housework.
  4. Helping your client access their community by accompanying them for a drive or walk, shopping or appointments.

We understand that valuing our professionals goes beyond training; it encompasses a holistic approach to their well being and satisfaction:

  1. Competitive Pay: Earn £11.50 from Monday to Friday (9am-5pm), £12.80 for evenings & weekends, and a whopping £25.60 on Bank Holidays.
  2. Consistent Client Interaction: With a minimum of 1-hour calls and client matching, we ensure continuity in care.
  3. Full-time position, including every other weekend off.
  4. Additional Financial Benefits: Get compensated for mileage, travel/waiting time, and even enjoy a paid day off on your birthday!
  5. Comprehensive Training: Besides our induction programme, we also offer Alzheimer’s, Dementia care, and Parkinson's training certificated by City and Guilds.
  6. Employee-centric Benefits: From a pension scheme, referral bonuses, regular team meet-ups, social events, to a wellness program and exclusive discounts.
Qualifications

A UK driving license and a car are a necessity.

Surprisingly, many members of our compassionate team start with little professional experience in care, although many have cared for a loved one or family member. Stepping into an unfamiliar role can be daunting, which is why we've developed a comprehensive support structure to give you all the skills and confidence you’ll need to provide quality care.
