Job summary

Scott Care Ltd is seeking Care Assistants to visit adults in their own homes across Sittingbourne and the Isle of Sheppey. No previous care experience required as full induction and ongoing support are provided.

You will help with personal care, meals, mobility and companionship, while following individual care plans and keeping accurate records. Good communication, reliability and the ability to travel between homes are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support with washing, dressing and personal care.

Pay: £12.81 per hour, enhanced bank-holiday pay and paid mileage

Scott Care Ltd is a local, family-run care provider established in 2004. We are growing our team of Care Assistants, also known as Care Workers or Support Workers, across Sittingbourne and the Isle of Sheppey.

You will visit adults and older people in their own homes, helping them remain safe, independent and connected to their community. Previous care experience is welcome but not essential—we provide the induction, training and ongoing support you need.

The role

Every person we support is different, but your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting people with washing, dressing and other personal care
• Preparing meals and supporting people to eat and drink
• Prompting or supporting with medication in accordance with your training and the person’s care plan
• Supporting mobility, social activities and independence
• Accompanying people to appointments where this forms part of their care
• Providing companionship and reassurance
• Following individual care plans and maintaining accurate care records
• Observing and reporting changes, concerns or risks promptly
• Undertaking light household tasks connected with the person’s care

What We Are Looking For

You do not need previous care experience. More importantly, you will need:

• A caring, respectful and compassionate approach
• Reliability and a commitment to your agreed working pattern
• Good communication and listening skills
• The confidence to work independently while remaining part of a supportive team
• The ability to follow care plans, policies and procedures
• Good written skills for completing clear and accurate care records
• A compatible smartphone on which you can use our work applications
• The ability to travel reliably between people’s homes

Some rounds may require a full driving licence and access to a vehicle. Please tell us about your transport arrangements when applying.

Working hours

Our care is provided throughout the day, including early mornings, daytime visits, evenings, bedtime calls and weekends.

We offer a range of regular working patterns, from a few part-time hours to full-time rounds, depending on current vacancies and your availability. We will agree your availability with you, and in return we ask you to be reliable and committed to that pattern so the people we support receive consistent care.
